Johnny Ruth’s brick and mortar location is centrally and strategically located in St. John’s Newfoundland’s vibrant downtown core and is the first stop for all cruise visitors to our lovely homeland. We pride ourselves on being ambassadors to the province and always endeavour to do whatever we can to support this place and its amazing people!

NL Arts Initiative

Johnny Ruth has always believed in the importance of supporting the arts, community and the people that help build it and continue adding to its vibrancy. To highlight our love of arts and community and to show our support we host monthly showcases in our store. These are often free or by donation, events that can be seen from in our shop windows. This gives emerging or established artists, dancers, poets, musicians etc., a way to bring their talents to potentially new audiences and let our customers and the public discover and immerse themselves in learning and experiencing arts in our community. 

If you are an artist and want your wares displayed, or to perform in one of the most watched windows on Water Street, let us know and we will arrange a time for you.

To extend our ability to promote arts and community we have also begun a feature on our blog called Community Spotlight where, monthly we will shine a light on a member of our community that we think deserves recognition.

Charitable Work

Johnny Ruth also supports various Newfoundland charities throughout the year and is a permanent drop off location for donations to the Food Sharing Association.
Drop off any donations at our shop, located at 183 Water Street in St. John’s NL during business hours and when you bring 5 or more items, we will take $5.00 off your next order!
